Kevin Kilbane has admitted that he has concerns about whether Micheal Keane could do adapt to playing in a top-four side.

The Burnley defender has been heavily linked with a move away from Turf Moor after his excellent performances in the 2016-17 season.

Indeed, Keane has played a vital role in helping promoted side Burnley to all but secure their Premier League status for a second season.

Manchester United have been linked with a move to re-sign the centre-half despite Louis van Gaal opting to sell the Englishman in 2014.

However, new Red Devils manager Jose Mourinho could face competition for the defender, with Arsenal, Everton and Liverpool all linked with Keane – too.

Speaking to Irish podcast Off The Ball about Burnley defender Keane, Kilbane expressed his reservations about the newly-capped England international.

“His quality is very good. I wonder [about him] if he made that step up and played in an Arsenal or Man United team and he had to be more expansive,” Kilbane said.

Manchester United signed Eric Bailly in a £30m deal from Burnley in the 2016 summer transfer window.

However, Mourinho has endured a defensive crisis throughout the campaign following injuries to Phil Jones, Chris Smalling and Marcos Rojo.
