Pundit: Reported Man United target is a better defender than John Stones
Kenny Cunningham explains why he rates Burnley defender Michael Keane ahead of Man City star John Stones
Michael Keane is a better defender than Manchester City star John Stones, according to Kenny Cunningham.
The Burnley has been linked with a move to a top Premier League club in the summer transfer window after a stellar season under Sean Dyche at Turf Moor.
Keane has been linked with a return to Manchester Untied at the end of the 2016-17 season less than 24 months after Louis van Gaal opted to sell the centre-half.
Arsenal, Everton and Liverpool have also been touted as possible destinations for the newly-capped England international ahead of the summer transfer window.
Keane has scored two gaols and has made one assist in 33 appearances in the Premier League this season to help Burnley all but secure their top-flight status.
Former Birmingham and Republic of Ireland defender Cunningham explained why he rates Keane above Stones amid ongoing transfer speculation surrounding the Burnley man.
“I like Micheal Keane a lot. He is a good defender. I’d give him the edge over Stones. He has been defensively better this season,” Cunningham told Irish podcast Off The Ball.
Stones moved to Manchester City in a £50m deal from Everton in the 2016 summer transfer window.
Manchester City will take on Arsenal in the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley on Sunday afternoon.
