Ian Wright says Tottenham Hotspur should take confidence from Chelsea’s slip-up at Manchester United.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side have been doing their utmost in the Premier League title race to put the leaders under pressure.

The north London side have won their last two top-flight fixtures by a four-goal margin, including a 4-0 win over Bournemouth last Saturday.

Tottenham moved to within four points of the Premier League leaders thanks to their landslide win against the Cherries at White Hart Lane.

Chelsea failed to restore their seven-point cushion after an emphatic 2-0 loss to Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Marcus Rashford and Ander Herrera scored goals either side of half-time to do Tottenham a favour in the title race.

Speaking to BBC Radio’s 606 podcast, Wright explained why Tottenham should be feeling confident about their title prospects.

“It’s up to Tottenham to keep the pressure on Chelsea because now we’ve seen they can slip up,” Wright said.

The title rivals will do battle in the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley next weekend.
