Paul Merson is backing Tottenham Hotspur to ease to a 3-1 win against Arsenal in the north London derby at White Hart Lane on Sunday afternoon.

Spurs will be hoping to put pressure on Premier League leaders Chelsea with an important win against their neighbours in the title race.

Christian Eriksen scored a late winner in Tottenham’s derby win against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Wednesday night to cut Chelsea’s lead to four points.

Arsenal, on the other hand, were unconvincing 1-0 winners against defending champions Leicester City at the Emirates Stadium after Robert Huth’s late own goal.

Harry Kane scored a second-half equaliser following Kevin Wimmer’s own goal in Tottenham’s 1-1 draw with Arsene Wenger’s side in the red half of north London back in November.

However, former Arsenal midfielder Merson is backing Mauricio Pochettino’s men to ease to a 3-1 victory over their derby rivals at White Hart Lane on Sunday afternoon.

“I can’t believe I’m saying this but I’m going 3-1 to Spurs this weekend. There’s a long way to go in this title race,” Merson told Sky Sports.
