Liverpool tracking 20-year-old ahead of possible summer transfer move – report
Liverpool are reportedly keeping tabs on Nigerian defender Chidozie Awaziem ahead of the summer transfer window
Liverpool are keeping tabs on Porto defender Chidozie Awaziem ahead of the summer transfer window, according to reports.
The Sun are reporting that the Merseyside outfit have been tracking the 20-year-old central defender in recent weeks as Jurgen Klopp considers bolstering his back-line ahead of next season.
The same story claims that a Liverpool scout made contact with Awaziem at Nigeria’s friendly clash with Senegal at Barnet last month.
Klopp is likely to want to bolster his Liverpool squad in the summer transfer window as he gears up for his second full season in charge at Anfield.
Awaziem has made 33 league starts for FC Porto’s B team so far this season.
He joined Porto back in 2014 from El-Kameni Warriors and has made 10 senior appearances for the Portuguese outfit.
Liverpool, meanwhile, are currently preparing for their trip to Watford on Monday night as they look to keep their top-four bid on track following their 2-1 loss to Crystal Palace last weekend.
