Arsene Wenger has insisted that he does not have a preference for either team to win Thursday night’s crunch derby clash between Manchester City and Manchester United.

The Arsenal manager watched his side keep alive their hopes of finishing in the top four this season with a scrappy 1-0 win over Leicester City at The Emirates on Wednesday night thanks to Nacho Monreal’s late deflected goal.

The result left Arsenal in sixth place in the Premier League table and four points behind fourth-placed Manchester City with six games left to play this season

Arsenal are set to battle for a top-four finish with the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool this season.

However, the Frenchman insisted that he does not have a preferred result for Thursday night’s clash at The Etihad.

Wenger told BBC Sport after Wednesday’s game: “Every win gives you a little more momentum.

“I don’t have a preference for the Manchester derby, we don’t have to look much at the others. We just have to look after ourselves. The target is clear for us.”
