Richard Dunne states his prediction for Man City v Man United
Richard Dunne looks ahead to Manchester United's clash with Manchester City on Thursday night
Richard Dunne believes that Manchester United are likely to adopt a defensive approach in Thursday’s derby clash against Manchester City.
The Red Devils head into the game on the back of their 2-0 win over Burnley on Sunday, a victory which moved them to within just one point of Pep Guardiola’s side with six games left to play.
Liverpool were beaten 2-1 by Crystal Palace at Anfield on Sunday afternoon, a result which means that Manchester United will move above Jurgen Klopp’s men in the race for a top-four finish if they win their games in hand.
And former Manchester City defender Dunne feels that Jose Mourinho is likely to set up his team with a defensive mindset against the Citizens at The Etihad on Thursday night.
Speaking on BT Sport’s Premier League Tonight show, Dunne said: “Mourinho is the master of getting the results.
“I think on Thursday they’ll try and shut the match up knowing that they’ve got that game in hand on Liverpool.”
Manchester United are also through to the Europa League semi-finals, where they will face Celta Vigo for a place in the showpiece.
The Red Devils finished fifth and won the FA Cup under Louis van Gaal last season.
