Antonio Conte has warned his Chelsea players that they will have to be at their best if they want to keep Zlatan Ibrahimovic quiet in Sunday’s crunch clash with Manchester United.

Ibrahimovic has been the Red Devils’ star performer this season after joining Manchester United from Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer last summer.

There had been doubts about whether the 35-year-old would be able to adapt to the rigours of the Premier League at such a late stage in his career.

However, the veteran forward has proved his doubters wrong by scoring 28 goals in all competitions for the Red Devils.

And Conte admits that Ibrahimovic is in the form of his life as he prepares his side for their trip to Old Trafford on Sunday.

“I think he is in the top form of his career,” Conte told a news conference at Cobham on Friday afternoon.

“I think now he is a great player, he is not just a finisher, it is good to have this type of player.

“He is very good to play for the team. For me he is one of the best in the world.”

Manchester United head into the game on the back of their 1-1 draw with Anderlecht in the Europa League on Thursday night.
