Graeme Souness: Man United star should win PFA award ahead of N’Golo Kante
Graeme Souness believes that Zlatan Ibrahimovic should win the PFA player of the year award this season
Graeme Souness believes that Zlatan Ibrahimovic should win the PFA player of the year award this season following his sparkling campaign with the Red Devils.
The Swedish striker has been a regular fixture in the Manchester United team this season and has dispelled any doubts about his fitness levels by producing some incredible form this term.
Ibrahimovic has scored a remarkable 27 goals in all competitions for Manchester United to help Jose Mourinho’s men challenge for a top-four finish in the Premier League.
However, Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante is the current bookmakers’ favourite to win the award after his sparkling first season at Stamford Bridge.
Kante has been in sublime form for the Blues to help them top the Premier League table and establish themselves as the firm favourites to win the title this season.
But former Liverpool man Souness says Ibrahimovic should win the prestigious PFA prize.
Souness is quoted as saying by Metro: “I have just voted for Ibrahimovic as my Player of the Year because he has been that good.
“However, with my Liverpool hat on, how concerning must it be to United that their best player by a considerable distance is a 35-year-old who might not be there next year.
“You could argue that their second best player is Michael Carrick and he is also 35 and might not be there next season.”
