Tony Gale is tipping Manchester United to finish in the top four this season – and win the Europa League.

The Red Devils gave their hopes of a top-four finish in the Premier League a significant boost on Sunday with an impressive 2-0 victory over Chelsea.

That result left Jose Mourinho’s fifth in the table, but they know that if they win their two games in hand they will move level on points with third-placed Liverpool before the season is out.

Manchester United also have the possibility of winning the Europa League this season and securing a different route into next season’s Champions League.

And Gale feels that Manchester United’s win over Chelsea has given them fresh hope of finishing in the top four this term.

Speaking on Sky Sports News HQ, Gale said: Before Sunday, Man United’s best chance of qualifying for the Champions League was winning the Europa League. Now it’s evened it up. It’s good for Man United.

“They beat Chelsea, they’ll beat Anderlecht – and they will still have a chance on two fronts to get in Champions League.”
