Antonio Conte is backing Manchester United to push for a top-four finish in the Premier League this season.

The Red Devils have struggled to find consistent form in the Premier League this term following Jose Mourinho’s appointment as the club’s new manager last summer.

Manchester United head into their clash with Chelsea on Sunday in fifth place in the Premier League table as they look to claw their way back into the Champions League qualification spots before the season is out.

Mourinho’s men also have the possibility of qualifying for next season’s Champions League by winning the Europa League this season.

And Conte believes that Manchester United will fight for qualification on both fronts this season.

Speaking at his pre-match news conference at Cobham on Friday, Conte said: “I think that Manchester United also has the possibility to arrive in the first four places and I am sure the United players want to fight to arrive in this position.

“It is not right to be concentrated only on one target if you have the possibility of two targets to reach the Champions League.”
