Martin Keown predicts where Man United will finish
Martin Keown has his say on where he thinks Manchester United are set to finish this season
Martin Keown believes that Manchester United are set to miss out on a top-four finish in the Premier League this season.
The Red Devils suffered a fresh blow to their top-four hopes on Tuesday night when they were held to a frustrating 1-1 draw by Everton at Old Trafford.
That result left Jose Mourinho’s men facing a serious uphill battle in trying to secure qualification for next season’s Champions League via a top-four finish.
Manchester United will have a second shot at qualifying for the Champions League next season when they look to win the Europa League this term.
And former Arsenal defender Keown feels that Manchester United’s best hope of securing a spot in Europe’s elite club competition for next term will come through winning the Europa League this season.
Speaking on BT Sport after Tuesday’s draw with Everton, Keown said: “You look at their remaining fixtures and they’ve got to play Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City. This is big time now.
“The Europa League is looking like there best chance to get back into the Champions League. This club and what it’s achieved over the years, it’s not good enough.”
