The Red Devils have made a decent start to life under the Portuguese coach following his appointment at Old Trafford last May.
Manchester United are currently in with a chance of a top-four finish in the Premier League and have already won the EFL Cup and Community Shield this season.
Mourinho has been tasked with steering Manchester United back into the Champions League after they finished fifth last season and won the FA Cup under Louis van Gaal.
And former Manchester United star Vidic says he has been very encouraged by what he has seen from the Red Devils under their new manager so far this term.
Speaking to Manchester United’s website, Vidic said: “Of course the fans they want to see more than moving in the right direction, the same as me, but I genuinely believe that the players really have potential to improve in this aspect of the game [turning draws into wins] and if you improve this aspect of the game we will not have a problem to compete for the title.
“The only thing I think that is missing this season is to be clinical in the last third of the field.”
Manchester United have not won the Premier League title since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement back in 2013.
The Red Devils will take on Anderlecht in the Europa League quarter-finals later this month.
