Wayne Bridge is backing Manchester United to reverse their stuttering form and pip Liverpool to a fourth-placed finish in the Premier League this season.

The Red Devils stuttered to another frustrating home draw on Tuesday night when they were held to a 1-1 stalemate by Everton at Old Trafford.

Jose Mourinho’s men have struggled to find consistent form in the Premier League this season and have drawn more games than any other side in the top 10.

Manchester United have it all to do if they want to claw their way up the table and into the top four before the season is out.

However, Chelsea legend Bridge is fully expecting Manchester United to climb into the top four before the season is over – at the expense of bitter local rivals Liverpool, who were held to a 2-2 draw by Bournemouth on Wednesday night.

Speaking to BetStars, Bridge said: “Manchester United [will finish fourth].

“It’s hard to go against Mourinho as manager. They’ve drawn a few games they should have won and really should be further up the table than they are.

“But the manager’s winning mentality means they’ll have a strong finish and I think they’ll pip Liverpool before the end of the season. I think they’ll put more of a challenge in for the title next year.

“It’s a big call, but I don’t think Arsenal will be in it. No Champions League for them!”

Manchester United will aim to return to winning ways in the Premier League when they head to the Stadium of Light to take on Sunderland on Sunday afternoon.
