Rio Ferdinand believes that there is plenty more to come from Marcus Rashford at Manchester United and has told Red Devils fans to be patient with him.

The 19-year-old has struggled to find consistent form for Jose Mourinho’s men this season after breaking into the first team under Louis van Gaal at Old Trafford last term.

Rashford has only managed to score three goals and make one assist in 24 Premier League appearances for the Red Devils so far this season.

He was unable to find the net as Mourinho’s side were held to a frustrating 1-1 draw by Everton at Old Trafford on Wednesday night.

However, the teenager is still widely regarded as one of Manchester United’s most promising talents.

And former Manchester United defender Ferdinand feels that there is plenty more to come from Rashford at Old Trafford.

Speaking on BT Sport after Wednesday’s draw, Ferdinand said: “The movement Rashford gives you from a central area, me as a defender, that would send nerves through my system. He has great movement, a great reading of the game and he needs to play in his best position. He is better than we have seen.”

Rashford will be hoping to feature for the Red Devils when they return to Premier League action with a trip to relegation-threatened Sunderland on Sunday afternoon.
