Manchester United are confident of pushing through a deal to sign Benfica defender Victor Lindelof this summer, say reports
Manchester United have held fresh talks about a £40m summer transfer bid for Benfica defender Victor Lindelof, according to reports.
The Daily Mirror are claiming that the Red Devils are set to revive their interest in signing the Swedish defender after being heavily linked with the 22-year-old back in January.
The same reports says that Manchester United are keen to bolster their defence this summer and that Lindelof could be one of two new centre-halves to arrive at Old Trafford when the transfer window reopens.
Burnley defender Michael Keane is the other player said to be one of Manchester United’s top targets at the back this summer.
Benfica are believed to be holding out for a £50m bid for Lindelof, with Manchester United having set their interest around the £40m mark, according to the report.
However, the report also claims that Manchester United are confident that they will be able to reach a deal to sign Lindelof from Benfica this summer.
The Red Devils take on Swansea City in the Premier League at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.
