Marouane Fellaini has warned his Manchester United team-mates that the Red Devils are in for a stern test of their Europa League credentials when they take on Anderlecht on Thursday night.

The Red Devils head into the game looking to secure their place in the semi-finals of Europe’s second tier club competition after their 1-1 draw in Belgium last week.

Manchester United earned plenty of praise for their performance against Chelsea on Sunday as they beat the Blues 2-0 at Old Trafford to boost their hopes of finishing in the top four this season.

However, Fellaini has warned his team-mates against complacency as they prepare for Thursday’s crunch clash at Old Trafford.

Fellaini told United Review: “It will be a tough game again. Every game is tough. When we play against a foreign team or even an English team, they all want to beat Manchester United so they will give everything to try to do that.

“But we have a big chance when we play at Old Trafford. We know how to play there and we will give everything to try to reach the semi-finals. I think Thursday will be a big game and we will do everything to win.

“This game will be different. The stadium is three times bigger than the stadium of Anderlecht, so it will be a completely different atmosphere. Everyone in the club – the players, the manager, the staff – wants to go all the way, so we work for that.”

After Thursday’s game, Manchester United will then turn their attentions back towards Premier League affairs and their trip to Burnley on Sunday.
