Antonio Conte has revealed his delight at seeing both Eden Hazard and N’Golo Kante be nominated for the PFA player of the year award.
Both of the Chelsea stars were named on the shortlist to win the prestigious individual prize last week after their sparkling displays for the west London club this term.
Hazard has been in superb form for Chelsea this season and his performances have helped Conte’s men establish themselves as the firm favourites to win the Premier League title this term.
He has scored 14 goals and made five assists in 29 Premier League games this season to help Chelsea top the table.
Kante has also been in superb form since his move to Stamford Bridge from Leicester City last summer.
And Conte, who is currently preparing his side for their crunch clash against Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday, has revealed his delight at seeing both players be nominated for the award.
Speaking at his pre-match news conference at Cobham on Friday, Conte said: “I think it is great for them, it is a great achievement to receive this nomination. It is very good.
“I hope for them to be the best player of the year. Also to win the league, awards are very important but the most important is to match the combination.”
Chelsea head into Sunday’s game on the back of their 3-1 win over Bournemouth last weekend.
Manchester United, meanwhile, are looking to bounce back from the disappointment of their 1-1 draw with Anderlecht on Thursday night in the Europa League.
