Marcos Alonso is confident that Chelsea have what it takes to beat Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.

The Blues head into the game looking to claim victory to move another step closer towards winning the Premier League title.

Chelsea have been the Premier League’s standout team this season and have earned plenty of praise for their performances under new boss Antonio Conte.

Diego Costa has been one of the west London side’s key players in recent months, with the Spain striker having netted 17 goals and making five assists in the Premier League this season.

Alonso has warned Manchester United that Costa will pose them a huge threat on Sunday afternoon at Old Trafford.

“Diego has been massive for Chelsea this season,” Alonso is quoted as saying by Metro. “He’s scored 20 goals and that is a significant contribution.

“But it’s not just about that, with the way we play, he is very important.

“He had another couple of chances to score against Bournemouth but no doubt next week, he’ll be there again.

“Is he a big-game player? Yes. Manchester United is going to be a tough game for us but it doesn’t matter who scores, hopefully we will get the three points.

“We have a week to rest a little bit and then prepare, that’s what we have to be focused on these days.”
