Paul Ince believes Sunday’s trip to Manchester United represents Antonio Conte’s biggest challenge as Chelsea manager – so far.

The Blues will make the long journey to Old Trafford more than 24 hours after their closest title rivals Tottenham Hotspur take on Bournemouth at White Hart Lane.

Spurs have the chance to move to within four points of the Premier League leaders before Chelsea look to beat Manchester United for the third time in the 2016-17 season.

The Blues were 4-0 winners against Manchester United at Stamford Bridge in October before a 1-0 victory over their former manager and his Red Devils side in the FA Cup quarter-final in March.

Chelsea have won their last two Premier League games to cement their seven-point lead at the top of the table.

Writing in his Paddy Power column ahead of Chelsea’s clash against Manchester United, former England midfielder Ince said:

“Antonio Conte will know that this is his biggest challenge to date.

“The players will have had this game earmarked for a while and even if Spurs win on Saturday morning, a victory at Old Trafford would put Chelsea seven points clear with four easy home games to go. That’s surely out of sight.

“This contest against United really is the defining moment for Chelsea.”
