Michael Owen believes Manchester United and Chelsea will play out a close-fought stalemate at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.

The Red Devils will be looking to cause an upset in the title race with a victory over the Premier League leaders in the top-five clash.

Chelsea have beaten Manchester City and Bournemouth in their last two top-flight fixtures to keep their title bid on track.

The west London side’s lead at the top could be cut to four points if Tottenham Hotspur beat Bournemouth in Saturday’s early kick-off.

Chelsea have already beaten former manager Jose Mourinho and his Manchester United side on two occasions in the 2016-17 campaign.

Antonio Conte’s men were 4-0 winners against the Red Devils in the Premier League in October before a 1-0 victory in the FA Cup quarter-final at Stamford Bridge in March.

Writing in his Bet Victor column about Manchester United’s home clash against Chelsea, former Liverpool striker Owen tipped the rivals to settle for a point.

“Chelsea have already beaten Manchester United twice at Stamford Bridge this season and Jose Mourinho will not want his old club to virtually wrap up the Premier League title at Old Trafford on Sunday,” Owen said.

He added: “I don’t expect to see a classic and perhaps both sides would take a point now.”
