Gary Neville believes Manchester United have produced their best home and away performances in their last two Premier League outings.

Jose Mourinho’s men sprung a surprise against Premier League leaders Chelsea at Old Trafford earlier this month after a 2-0 win against Antonio Conte’s men.

Marcus Rashford broke the deadlock against the west London side before midfielder Ander Herrera sealed three points with a deflected strike.

Manchester United cemented their late bid for a top-four finish on Sunday afternoon with a 2-0 win against Burnley at Turf Moor on Sunday afternoon.

France international Anthony Martial netted a super counter-attacking goal before Wayne Rooney found the back of the net on a rare start under Jose Mourinho.

Manchester United moved to within a point of fourth-placed Manchester City ahead of their derby clash at The Etihad on Thursday night.

Speaking to Sky Sports about Manchester United’s form ahead of the bitter local clash at Manchester City later this week, Neville said:

“From a Manchester United point of view, the two performances in the league are probably the best I’ve seen them home and away.

“In terms of professionalism definitely, they were really comfortable and managed the game well. It’s been a good week for Jose Mourinho.

“The walls are converging for United in both competitions and they can’t rest because they’ve got a chance in both.”
