Ian Wright has ruled out the prospect of Manchester United slipping up against Swansea City at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.

The Red Devils are in fifth place in the Premier League but a mere point adrift of Manchester City, who occupy the final Champions League spot.

Indeed, Manchester United battled to a goalless draw with Pep Guardiola’s side in the derby on Thursday night to ensure their derby fate remains in their hands.

Jose Mourinho’s side have a poor record at Old Trafford in the 2016-17 after conspiring to draw a staggering nine of their 17 fixtures in front of their own supporters.

Swansea have beaten Manchester United in two of their last three trips to Old Trafford, which is an incredible record for the relegation-threatened side.

However, former Arsenal striker Wright is backing Manchester United to secure another three points in their pursuit of a top-four finish against Swansea City on Sunday afternoon.

“I can’t see it happening with Manchester United so close to the top four and in the semi-finals. They should beat Swansea at home,” Wright told The Sun Goals podcast.
