The former Arsenal defender reacts to Zlatan Ibrahimovic's performance in Manchester United's 1-1 draw with Everton
Martin Keown felt that Zlatan Ibrahimovic showed his age during Manchester United’s 1-1 draw with Everton at Old Trafford on Tuesday night.
The former Sweden international was restored to the Manchester United line-up after serving his suspension for violent conduct during a 1-1 stalemate with Bournemouth last month.
However, summer signing Ibrahimovic looked to be suffering with a bout of ring rust after the 35-year-old centre-forward missed a series of chances in the first half at Old Trafford.
Phil Jagielka broke the deadlock with a superb close-range finish after the experienced England centre-half managed to outwit Argentina international Marcos Rojo.
Manchester United looked to be heading for their first defeat since losing to Premier League leaders Chelsea at Stamford Bridge back in October.
Former Arsenal defender Keown believes Ibrahimovic looked like an ageing striker during Manchester United’s 1-1 draw with Everton on Tuesday night.
“Zlatan is 35 and he looked it [on Tuesday night]. He has been out injured and he looked off the pace,” Keown told BT Sport.
Manchester United are in fifth place in the Premier League table.
