Michael Owen expressed his concern for Zlatan Ibrahimovic after the Manchester United striker suffered an injury during Thursday night’s clash with Anderlecht.

The Manchester United manager rested Ibrahimovic for the visit of Premier League leaders Chelsea at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.

The Red Devils eased to a 2-0 win against Antonio Conte’s side thanks to goals from Marcus Rashford and Ander Herrera.

Mourinho restored Ibrahimovic to his starting line-up for the second leg of their Europa League quarter-final.

However, the former Sweden international struggled to find the back of the net despite Manchester United creating plenty of opportunities for their top goal-scorer.

And the 35-year-old appeared to suffer a serious injury following an awkward fall at the end of the 90 minutes in Manchester United’s 2-1 extra-time win against Anderlecht.

“It looks like a nasty one. It looked pretty bad. It’s a worry for Jose Mourinho,” Owen said.

Ibrahimovic moved to Manchester United in a free transfer from Ligue 1 side Paris Saint-Germain in last summer’s transfer window.

The Swedish forward has scored 17 goals in 29 games in the Premier League this season.
