Phil Neville reacts to Cesc Fabregas’s display in Chelsea’s 3-0 win at Everton
Former Everton and Man United defender hails Cesc Fabregas' performance from the bench in Chelsea's 3-0 at Goodison Park
Phil Neville hailed Cesc Fabregas’ role in Willian’s goal in Chelsea’s 3-0 win against Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday afternoon.
The Premier League leaders made the breakthrough in the second half thanks to Pedro Rodriguez’s stunning goal in the 66th minute after the former Barcelona man fired into the Everton net from outside the penalty area.
England defender Gary Cahill scored an unlikely second goal in successive Premier League games to extend the visitors’ lead with 14 minutes to play on the blue half of the Merseyside.
Antonio Conte brought on Cesc Fabregas and Willian in the final eight minutes and the Spain international showed incredible vision to tee up the Brazil international in the 86th minute.
The former Arsenal captain produced five accurate passes in what was an influential cameo performance at Goodison Park.
Ex-Everton defender Neville was full of praise for the Spain international after his impressive impact from the bench.
“That is a sensational football goal. The pass from Fabregas,” Neville told NBCSN.
“The ball just gets fired into Diego Costa. The lay off from costa is good but it’s Fabregas’ pass.
“You think there is nobody in the middle but he has the vision to see the run of Willian. Only fabregas can see the run. he has the eyes in the back of his head.”
Chelsea are looking to win their second Premier League title in three seasons.
