Michael Owen is backing both teams to score in Liverpool’s trip to Stoke City in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

Liverpool head into the game fresh from the disappointment of their 2-2 draw with Bournemouth in midweek as they missed the opportunity to keep up the pressure on second-placed Tottenham.

The Reds are currently in third place in the Premier League table as they chase a top-four finish in Jurgen Klopp’s first full season in charge at Anfield.

Klopp has been tasked with steering the Merseyside outfit back into the Champions League after the disappointment of their eighth-placed finish last season.

Owen stopped short of predicting the final result but admitted that he is expecting to see plenty of goals at the bet365 Stadium.

Writing in his column for BetVictor, Owen said: “Liverpool reverted to type against Bournemouth midweek and it is so frustrating following the Reds this season given they have won just half of their games against sides who currently sit in the bottom half of the league.

“Jurgen Klopp’s side are without a win in their last five away league games but they do score goals and I expect to see goals in the Potteries at the weekend.”
