Jamie Carragher has warned Tottenham that they are in for a stern test of their Premier League title credentials when they take on Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium on Wednesday night.

The Lilywhites managed to cut the gap to Premier League leaders Chelsea down to seven points at the weekend when they secured a 2-0 win over Burnley.

Chelsea are set to take on Manchester City in the Premier League at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night and Spurs will be wanting to take maximum points against Swansea to keep the pressure up on the Blues.

However, former Liverpool star Carragher feels that Tottenham’s away form has been their main problem this season and says that is why they will miss out on the title.

Speaking on Sky Sports News HQ on Monday morning, Carragher said: “The great thing for Tottenham is that they won an away game [at Burnley].

“Their home record has been fantastic and away from home they haven’t done as well.

“They’ve got Swansea away in midweek who are fighting for their lives and that won’t be an easy game.

“Their away form is where they’ve let themselves down this season and where they will, I think, fall short.”
