Michael Owen is backing Tottenham to be held to a 1-1 draw by Swansea City in their Premier League clash at the Liberty Stadium on Wednesday night.

Spurs boosted their hopes of catching Chelsea in the race for the Premier League title by closing the gap to the Blues down to seven points thanks to their win at Burnley on Saturday.

That result came as Chelsea slumped to a shock 2-1 loss to Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon and gave the Lilywhites hope of catching the Blues.

However, former Liverpool striker Owen is expecting Tottenham to drop two points against Swansea at the Liberty Stadium on Wednesday night.

Writing in his column for BetVictor, Owen said: “Swansea have never beaten Spurs in the Premier League but I feel they will pick up a point at the Liberty.

“Both sides have scored in all five previous Premier League meetings between the clubs and I expect that trend to continue midweek.”

Tottenham are aiming to once again finish in the top four this season after the Lilywhites ended up in third place in the Premier League table last season.
