Thierry Henry opens up about Chelsea boss Antonio Conte
Thierry Henry admits that he has been hugely impressed by Antonio Conte's impact at Chelsea and says he is the manager of the year
Thierry Henry has explained why he feels that Antonio Conte has been the Premier League’s manager of the year following his brilliant start to life at Chelsea.
The Blues are currently flying high at the top of the Premier League table after enjoying a superb turnaround in form under their new manager.
Chelsea are seven points clear at the top of the table as they chase the title in the Italian manager’s first season in charge at the club.
It is all a far cry from Chelsea’s struggled last season, when they ended up 10th in the table and without a trophy following the sacking of Jose Mourinho.
And Arsenal legend Henry has been hugely impressed by Chelsea’s impressive form this season under their new manager.
Henry told Sky Sports: “As a coach, Conte has done exactly what you’re supposed to do. He arrived at Chelsea, assessed the situation and didn’t do what he wanted right from the start.
“He did what a good coach should do, in that, when it’s not working he changes it. And it worked because his system has helped every single player to do better.”
Chelsea are currently preparing for their crunch Premier League clash against Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon as they look to take a step closer towards winning the title.
