Gary Lineker declared that Tottenham Hotspur are miles ahead of Arsenal after Spurs were 2-0 winners in Sunday’s north London derby.

Tottenham were looking to reduce Chelsea’s lead at the top of the table to four points after the Premier League leaders were 3-0 winners against Everton at Goodison Park.

Arsenal, meanwhile, had the chance to close the gap on their top-four rivals Manchester City and Manchester United after stalemates for both of the Manchester clubs.

Tottenham made the breakthrough in the second half through Dele Alli after the England midfielder got on the end of Christian Eriksen’s pass to finish from close range.

Harry Kane won a penalty two minutes later after Gabriel Paulista was adjudged to have brought down the Tottenham striker in Petr Cech’s area.

The Spurs talisman doubled the home side’s lead to secure three points against Arsene Wenger’s side and move Tottenham back to within four points of Chelsea.

“Excellent performance and win for @SpursOfficial . Miles ahead of @Arsenal in every department,” Lineker wrote on Twitter.
