Thierry Henry reacts to Arsenal’s 2-0 loss to Tottenham
Thierry Henry delivers an honest assessment of Arsenal's 2-0 defeat by Tottenham in the Premier League on Sunday
Thierry Henry admitted that Arsenal could have no complaints about the scoreline after their 2-0 loss to bitter local rivals Tottenham on Sunday afternoon.
After a goalless first half at White Hart Lane, the Lilywhites took the lead in the 55th minute when Dele Alli fired home from close range.
And Spurs were 2-0 up less than three minutes later when Harry Kane converted his penalty after he was brought down in the box by Gabriel Paulista.
The result left Spurs four points behind leaders Chelsea in the race for the Premier League title, and confirmed that the Lilywhites will finish above Arsenal for the first time in 22 years.
And Arsenal legend Henry admitted that the Gunners could have no complaints after the defeat.
Henry told Sky Sports after the game: “I heard Jan Vertonghen saying that we wanted it more than them. I heard Harry Kane saying we out-worked them.
“If someone also came and said we outplayed them I’d like to talk and say something back to them.
“But I can’t actually say anything about what I saw today. They are right. That’s actually the biggest picture here.
“There is nothing I can say. They were the better team on the day.”
Arsenal now turn their attentions towards their crunch clash with Manchester United next weekend, while Tottenham travel to West Ham United on Friday night as they look to close the gap to Chelsea down to one point.
