Jamie Carragher makes big prediction about Tottenham star
Jamie Carragher believes that it won't be long before Dele Alli is crowned the PFA player of the year
Jamie Carragher believes that Dele Alli is not far away from being named as the PFA player of the year.
The Tottenham youngster has been in superb form for Spurs this season, with his sparkling displays helping Mauricio Pochettino’s men challenge Chelsea for the Premier League title.
Indeed, the 21-year-old has scored 16 goals and made four assists in 30 Premier League games for Tottenham this season to help Spurs up to second place in the table.
Alli broke onto the scene at Tottenham last term and was named as the PFA young player of the year thanks to his sparkling displays.
And Liverpool legend Carragher feels that it will not be long before Alli wins the main PFA player award.
Speaking to Sky Sports News HQ, Carragher said: “It’s getting to stage now where he wouldn’t be that far away from PFA player of the year, so that’s a great sign.”
Alli will be expecting to feature for Tottenham when the Lilywhites take on Bournemouth at home in the Premier League on Saturday lunchtime.
Victory for the north London club will allow them to move within four points of leaders Chelsea, who travel to Manchester United on Sunday.
