Glenn Hoddle says there are plenty of reasons for Tottenham fans to be positive this season following their brilliant form under Mauricio Pochettino.

Spurs have been Chelsea’s closest challengers for the Premier League title this season, with Spurs currently second in the table and seven points behind the leaders.

Tottenham were Leicester City’s closest rivals for the title last season but Pochettino’s men ended up finishing third in the table behind bitter local rivals Arsenal.

The Premier League crown may be beyond reach this term but Spurs look on course to secure a top-four finish and a place in next season’s Champions League.

And former Tottenham boss Hoddle has been particularly impressed by the way in which Spurs have been able to cope with injuries to key players this season.

Speaking on BT Sport’s Premier League Tonight show, Hoddle said: “I think where they’ve improved and got better is the squad.

“They’ve had injuries to key players – Kane, Walker, Rose, Vertonghen… real key players and they’ve managed to maintain their performance levels and win matches.

“They’re an exciting team to watch. They want to go forward and I think Spurs fans are enjoying what they’re seeing at White Hart Lane.”
