Paul Merson is backing Tottenham Hotspur to continue their impressive Premier League form with a comfortable win against Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon.

Spurs were 4-0 winners against London rivals Watford in the early kick-off at White Hart Lane last weekend which heaped pressure on Premier League leaders Chelsea.

The Blues, though, managed to restore their seven-point lead thanks to a 3-1 victory over Eddie Howe’s side in Bournemouth on Saturday evening.

Tottenham will take on the south coast club in the early game on Saturday this weekend which gives Spurs the chance to move back to within four points of Antonio Conte’s side.

Indeed, the north London side could put Chelsea under some serious pressure ahead of their trip to Manchester United in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

Writing in his Sky Sports column ahead of an enthralling weekend in the Premier League, Merson said:

“Spurs are flying at the moment and I can’t see anything other than a home win.

“Bournemouth are seven points above the relegation zone and that’s a lot at this stage of the season – I don’t see them being in trouble.

“They have another win in them and that will be enough to secure safety.

“It’s not coming here, though, because Tottenham are relentless and I think they will put the pressure on Chelsea for 24 hours.”
