Andy Hinchcliffe believes that Arsenal still have a great chance of finishing in the top four this season.

The north London side kept alive their faint hopes of qualifying for next season’s Champions League with a 2-0 win at Southampton on Wednesday night.

That result lifted the Gunners up into fifth place in the Premier League table ahead of their trip to Stoke City on Saturday night.

Arsenal can move to within a point of Liverpool if the beat the Potters at the bet365 Stadium before the Reds take on West Ham on Sunday.

And Hinchcliffe believes that Arsene Wenger will try to do everything he can to help the Gunners qualify for next season’s Champions League.

Speaking on Sky Sports News HQ on Wednesday, Hinchcliffe said: “It’s interesting to see how seriously they’re going to take finishing in the top four.

“Arsenal, presumably, will take it seriously because they always do. The chance is there for Arsenal to make it.

“It’s always been their driving force to finish in the top four.

“With a FA Cup final on the horizon, it’s interesting to see Arsene Wenger’s starting line-up in terms of how seriously he is taking it.”

Arsenal finished second but without a trophy last season.
