Gary Lineker reacts to Arsenal’s 4-1 win at Stoke
Gary Lineker had his say on Mesut Ozil's goal after Arsenal's 4-1 win over Stoke City on Saturday
Gary Lineker took to social media to react to Mesut Ozil’s goal after Arsenal kept their top-four hopes alive with a 4-1 win over Stoke City on Saturday afternoon.
The north London side secured a vital three points to move them up to within just a point of Liverpool ahead of the Reds’ trip to West Ham on Sunday afternoon.
Olivier Giroud gave Arsenal the lead in the first half when he tapped home from close range after being found by Hector Bellerin.
And Mesut Ozil made it 2-0 shortly after half-time when the German tapped home from Alexis Sanchez’s pass.
Peter Crouch pulled a goal back for the home side in the 68th minute at the bet365 Stadium but Sanchez made it 3-1 with a brilliant strike in the 76th minute.
And Giroud added a fourth in the 80th minute when he fired home Aaron Ramsey’s cross.
Lineker was keeping tabs on the game and took to Twitter after Ozil’s goal.
He tweeted: “Who says Özil can’t do it on a beautiful sunny evening in Stoke?”
The result still leaves Arsenal needing Liverpool to slip up in one of their two final games of the season against West Ham and Middlesbrough.
