Petr Cech sends message to Arsenal fans about Arsene Wenger’s future
Petr Cech insists that the uncertainty surrounding Arsene Wenger's future is not affecting Arsenal's players
Petr Cech has insisted that the uncertainty surrounding Arsene Wenger’s future at Arsenal has not been affecting his players.
The Frenchman’s situation at The Emirates has been a relentless source of speculation in recent weeks because his current deal is set to expire in the summer and he is yet to make an announcement about his future.
Arsenal have been in stuttering form in recent weeks but could still end the season with a trophy if they beat Chelsea in the FA Cup final later this months.
There is yet to be an announcement about Wenger’s future and the Frenchman has remained coy whenever quizzed about the situation.
However, Cech insists that the situation is not affecting him or his team-mates.
Cech said on Sky Sports’ Soccer Saturday: I think at this moment it is clear Mr Wenger is our manager, and he will be until the end of the season, and then he has the cards in his hands.
“We will see what his decision will be, but I don’t think it makes the situation more different.
“You have the manager and you know you have to deliver the performances and you need to work towards the games to win the games, and everybody needs to do their best. Whether the manager stays or not, at this moment I don’t think it is a huge problem.
“I don’t see it personally as a problem, I just do my best every day and try to prepare for every game, and if somebody is different and has a different feeling, it can happen. Personally I don’t really follow that too much because I am concentrating on my work.”
Cech will be hoping to help Arsenal claim victory over Manchester United in the Premier League at The Emirates on Sunday afternoon.
