Jamie Redknapp has told Arsenal’s players that it is time for them to stand up and be counted ahead of their showdown with Manchester United on Sunday.

Arsenal were beaten 2-0 by Tottenham in their most recent Premier League outing last weekend to leave their hopes of finishing in the top four this season hanging by a thread.

The Gunners will need to beat Manchester United at The Emirates on Sunday to keep alive their fading hopes of finishing in the top four this term.

Redknapp was one of the pundits to criticise Arsenal for their below-par display in their defeat by Tottenham at White Hart Lane last weekend.

And the former Liverpool midfielder has challenged Arsene Wenger’s men to put that right with a commanding display against Manchester United on Sunday.

Redknapp told Sky Sports: “It’s time for the Arsenal players to stand up and show the fight and desire their fans have been demanding of them.

“I said after their 2-0 north London derby defeat at Tottenham last weekend that there were too many passengers in the red shirts of Arsenal.

“Well, there needs to be an attitude shift against Manchester United on Sunday.”
