Shkodran Mustafi has admitted his frustration that Arsenal’s poor form has left them with an uphill struggle to qualify for the Champions League.

The north London side kept alive their faint hopes of finishing in the top four this season when they beat Southampton 2-0 at St Mary’s on Wednesday night.

That win lifted Arsenal into fifth place in the Premier League table, and the Gunners can move to within a point of Liverpool if they beat Stoke City on Saturday evening.

However, Arsenal’s have struggled for consistent form in recent weeks and the Gunners have been left facing a serious battle to finish in the top four.

And Mustafi admits that he is frustrated that Arsenal weren’t able to produce consistent performances for a large portion of the campaign.

Mustafi is quoted as saying by the Daily Star: “Well, I wish we found that before.

“But now we have three games and we have to give everything, like we did [against Southampton], to try and get everything out of all the games.

“Hopefully at the end we’ll reach our goals.”
