Sky Sports reporter confirms Arsenal to make first summer signing

Arsenal will sign Sead Kolasinac on a free transfer from Schalke on 1 July, according to Sky Sports reporter Jim White.

The north London side are bound to be linked with a host of players in the coming weeks and months as the summer transfer window draws ever nearer.

Schalke defender Kolasinac has been touted as a possible target for the Gunners in recent weeks as Arsene Wenger considers bolstering his squad at The Emirates.

And Sky Sports presenter White appears to have confirmed that the Gunners will land the left-back this summer.

White tweeted on Monday afternoon: “Sead Kolasinac to join Arsenal from Schalke on July 1.”

Kolasinac’s contract at Schalke is set to expire at on 30 June.

There has been plenty of speculation about the situation at Arsenal in recent weeks, with Wenger’s future still a source of debate.

The Frenchman’s contract is due to expire at the end of the season and he is yet to confirm whether he will stay at Arsenal beyond the summer.
