Arsenal keen to begin summer spending by signing 21-year-old – report
Arsene Wenger wants to bring Monaco midfielder Thomas Lemar to The Emirates this summer, say reports
Arsenal want to sign Monaco midfielder Thomas Lemar this summer to begin their squad revamp, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Mirror is reporting that Arsene Wenger has identified Lemar as his top midfield target this summer as he looks to prepare his squad for next season.
The same report stats that Wenger is a “huge” admirer of the 21-year-old midfielder and that the Gunners boss wants to bolster his squad in that area in the summer.
The story also claims that the fact that Wenger is keen on bringing Lemar to The Emirates is a big indicator that he is planning to stay at Arsenal beyond the summer.
The article says Arsenal are “desperate” to overhaul their squad in the summer and that Lemar’s likely asking price is going to be around £25m.
It goes on to state that the north London side are confident of landing Schalke left-back Sead Kolasinac on a free transfer.
Arsenal are currently preparing for their Premier League trip to Stoke City on Saturday evening as they look to keep their faint top-four hopes alive.
