Michael Owen states his prediction for Arsenal v Man United
Michael Owen looks ahead to Arsenal's clash with Manchester United in the Premier League on Sunday
Michael Owen is backing Manchester United to get a positive result from their trip to Arsenal in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
The Gunners head into the game desperately looking to return to winning ways after the disappointment of their 2-0 loss to Tottenham last weekend.
That result dealt a fresh blow to Arsenal’s hopes of finishing in the top four this season, with Arsene Wenger’s men currently sixth in the table heading into this weekend’s round of games.
Manchester United, meanwhile, are also looking to get back to winning ways after their 1-1 draw with Swansea City in the Premier League last weekend.
The Red Devils are fifth and still in with a chance of finishing in the top four this season.
And former Manchester United striker Owen is tipping the Red Devils to either win or draw against Arsenal at The Emirates on Sunday afternoon.
Writing in his column for BetVictor, Owen said: “I am writing this en route to Spain and United’s 1st leg Europa League semi-final at Celta Vigo which I am covering for BT Sport.
“The result of that game may affect Jose Mourinho’s team selection but one thing is for certain the United boss will not want to lose their 25 game unbeaten run in the league at the Emirates in what could be the last time Mourinho and Arsene Wenger go head-to-head.
“Wenger has never got the better of Mourinho in the Premier League, with his only success coming in the 2015 Community Shield. I expect United to grind out a result.”
