Gary Neville states his prediction for Arsenal v Man United
The Manchester United legend believes Arsenal could be in for a difficult afternoon if the Red Devils score first at The Emirates
Gary Neville has warned Arsenal that it will be a difficult afternoon at The Emirates if Manchester United score first on Sunday.
The Gunners will host their bitter rivals in the Premier League this weekend as Arsene Wenger looks to steer Arsenal into the top four.
The north London side are in sixth place in the Premier League table and nine points adrift of third-placed Liverpool in the hunt for a Champions League spot.
Arsenal lost 2-0 to their bitter rivals Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane last weekend after goals from Dele Alli and Harry Kane.
Manchester United, meanwhile, played out a frustrating 1-1 draw with Swansea City to lose ground on their top-four rivals with four games to go.
Former Manchester United defender Neville has warned Wenger and his Arsenal players that scoring first in Sunday’s Premier League clash will be imperative.
“It’s a game where the result is difficult to call. If United were to score first it would be a very difficult atmosphere,” said Neville, speaking on the Gary Neville podcast.
“I was there against Manchester City and the atmosphere was strange. It’s weird down there at the moment. If United were to go in front it would be a very uncomfortable afternoon for Arsene Wenger and his players.”
Arsenal crashed out of the Champions League earlier this season after a 10-2 aggregate loss to Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.
