Ian Wright is tipping Arsenal to beat Manchester United at The Emirates on Sunday afternoon.

The Gunners will be hoping to make a swift return to winning ways after a disappointing 2-0 loss to Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League last weekend.

Manchester United, on the other hand, played out disappointing draws with Manchester City and Swansea City to leave Jose Mourinho’s side outside the top four.

Arsenal rescued a 1-1 draw with Manchester United at Old Trafford back in November thanks to Olivier Giroud’s late equaliser.

Speaking to The Sun Goals podcast about the Emirates Stadium clash this weekend, former Arsenal legend Wright is optimistic that Arsene Wenger’s side can spring a surprise.

“I’m going to go with the draw because that’s what I want,” Wright said. “I want a draw but I’m desperate for a win. Actually I’m going to go for a win, and that’s purely on sentiment.”

Arsenal are in sixth place in the Premier League table and nine points adrift of third-placed Liverpool in the hunt for a Champions League spot.

The Gunners finished in second spot above Louis van Gaal’s Manchester United in the 2015-16 season.

Manchester United have won the EFL Cup this term under Van Gaal’s replacement Jose Mourinho.
