Paul Merson: Man United definitely won’t beat Arsenal, here’s why
Paul Merson says Manchester United have no chance of beating Arsenal on Sunday afternoon
Paul Merson says Arsenal are “certainties” to beat Manchester United in Sunday’s crunch Premier League clash at The Emirates.
The north London side head into the game looking to return to winning ways after the disappointment of their 2-0 loss to Tottenham at White Hart Lane last weekend.
That result left Arsenal’s hopes of finishing in the top four this season hanging by a thread with five games left to play.
Arsene Wenger’s men are preparing to take on Manchester United at The Emirates on Sunday afternoon as they look to get back to winning ways in the Premier League.
And former Arsenal star Merson has explained why he thinks Manchester United have no chance of winning Sunday’s game.
Writing in his column for the Daily Star, Merson said: “Arsenal are a certainty to beat Manchester United on Sunday.
“It’s perfect timing for them. United could win all their remaining games and still finish fifth.
“They have to put all their eggs in one basket and try to win the Europa League. They will rest players against Arsenal and you can’t really blame them.”
Arsenal are currently five points behind Manchester United but have played a game less than Jose Mourinho’s men heading into Sunday’s showdown in north London.
