Ian Wright has warned Arsenal to expect Manchester United to adopt a conservative approach to their Premier League clash at The Emirates.

The Gunners will welcome the EFL Cup winners to the Emirates Stadium in search of three points to give their slim top-four hopes a boost.

Arsenal lost 2-0 to bitter rivals Tottenham Hotspur last weekend following goals from Dele Alli and Harry Kane in the north London derby.

The Gunners have benefited from a seven-day rest ahead of the visit of Manchester United in the Premier League this weekend.

Manchester United, on the other hand, were 1-0 winners against La Liga side Celta Vigo in the first leg of their Europa League semi-finals.

Former Arsenal striker Wright is expecting Manchester United to adopt a counter-attacking approach at the Emirates Stadium.

“Man United will sit back,” Wright told the Sun Goals podcast.

“Man United have the players who can spring forward and cause us problems with their pace. They’ll play on the counter-attack, why wouldn’t they?”
