Jose Mourinho predicts Celta Vigo v Man United
Jose Mourinho insists his Manchester United side will be ready for their crunch clash against Celta Vigo on Thursday
Jose Mourinho has promised Manchester United fans that his players will “give everything” in their Europa League semi-final clash against Celta Vigo on Thursday night.
The Red Devils head into the game fresh from the disappointment of their 1-1 draw with Swansea City at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.
That result left Manchester United’s hopes of finishing in the top four in doubt and added fresh importance to the Red Devils’ Europa League bid, with Mourinho’s side able to qualify for next season’s Champions League by winning the competition.
It was a busy April for Mourinho’s men and the games continue to come thick and fast, with Manchester United set to travel to Arsenal on Sunday after their semi-final on Thursday night.
But Mourinho has insisted that his team will give everything to try and reach the final of the competitions.
Speaking at his post-match news conference on Sunday, Mourinho said: “For me, the next game is always a big game.
“We go with everything we have; obviously I was joking when I said I was training to play on Thursday, but it doesn’t matter who plays. They give everything, so I always trust them.
“We give everything. When you give everything, you can’t do any more, so for sure we’re going to give everything.
“With one more day to rest than from Thursday night to Sunday morning, we have one day more. It’s a little bit more human, if you can say that, and for sure we’re going to give everything.
“It doesn’t matter about the result or if we go to the final or not, I’m really happy with the personality and character of these guys.”
Manchester United finished fifth and won the FA Cup under Louis van Gaal last season.
