Cesc Fabregas wants Chelsea to beat Sunderland and become the first Premier League team to win 30 games in one season
Cesc Fabregas has taken to social media to tell his Chelsea team-mates to focus on making Premier League history when they host Sunderland in the top flight on Sunday afternoon.
The Spanish midfielder scored the winner for Antonio Conte’s men as the Blues sealed a thrilling 4-3 win over Watford at Stamford Bridge on Monday night.
That win was their 29th in the Premier League this season and demonstrates their remarkable turnaround under Conte in west London.
No team has ever won 30 games in the Premier League era – and the last side to secure 29 victories was Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea team back in the 2004-05 and 2005-06 seasons.
And Fabregas is determined to make sure Chelsea end the season on a high by beating Sunderland this weekend before lifting the Premier League trophy in front of their home fans.
Fabregas posted the picture above on his personal Instagram account and wrote the caption: “29th win last night, one more to make PL history for being the team with more wins in a season. Come on! 💪🏼⚽”
Chelsea are chasing a domestic double this season and will take on Arsenal in the FA Cup final at Wembley at the end of the month.
