David Luiz makes admission to Chelsea fans about transfer
David Luiz admits he always left the door open for a possible return to Chelsea after he joined PSG
David Luiz admits that he always had a suspicion that he could return to Chelsea after leaving Stamford Bridge to join Paris Saint-Germain back in 2014.
The Brazilian defender was deemed to be surplus to requirements at Chelsea by then manager Jose Mourinho and was allowed to leave the club to join the French side.
However, new Chelsea boss Antonio Conte brought Luiz back to Stamford Bridge last summer and the Brazilian has been a key part of the Blue’ success this season.
Chelsea are currently flying high at the top of the Premier League table and are also looking to win the FA Cup.
And Luiz admits that he always remained open to the possibility of returning to Chelsea despite his move to PSG.
Speaking in an interview with FourFourTwo magazine, Luiz said: “You can’t predict these things, but I always left the door open for a possible return.
“There are moments in your career when you feel like a cycle has come to an end – and that’s what I thought when I left the club three years ago.”
Luiz will be hoping to feature for Chelsea when the Blues return to Premier League action on Monday night with a home clash against Middlesbrough, as they look to take a step closer towards their second title in three seasons.
